You don’t need both if only one system is actually acting up, and a dryer that’s drying fine in one cycle doesn’t need the vent touched just because the ducts happen to be due. And a house that isn’t dusty, hasn’t been remodeled, and didn’t sit through a smoky August doesn’t need the ducts opened just because the dryer vent needs work this year.
